So why another Autism Charity? Surely there are enough charities providing assistance to these children already? Sadly, no! There are many organizations in our community targeting diagnosis, advocacy, research and medical therapies (of all types) to treat Autism, and very few which aim to assist with basic social skill development, a core-deficit area of autism.
A Place For All Pieces aims to be at the forefront in creating guided social interactions and chances for positive self-identity for those on the spectrum. In essence, we will simply be teaching through play. Play will be guided, with opportunities for social skills and pragmatic language introduction and generalization. A positive self-image of autism will be fostered and nurtured. Empowered with a positive identity, those with autism can possess the confidence, discipline, leadership and productivity required to become contributing citizens in our communities. Toward this end, we offer the following services:
A Soccer Team, Guided Play Groups, A Chess Club, A Science Club, A Teen Club, Family Support Groups, Dance Parties
